Nicola Peretto

Nicola Peretto, described by " Vandoren Paris" as one of the brightest classical saxophonists of the new generation, was born in 1992 in Aosta (Italy). 

He won 7 prizes during important international competitions as soloist, among others:

-1st Prize of “Adolphe Sax" International Competition in l’Hay-les-Roses (Paris, 2016)

-3st  Prize  of  "Josip Nochta" International Competition (2017, Zagreb)

-1st Prize of International Music Competition "Marco Fiorindo" in 2018, (Nichelino, Italy)

-1st  Prize and Special Prize for the best interpretation of the compulsory work in the final ("Verdiana" by Alexey Shor) at the "Classic Winds International Competition" in 2018 (Hamburg, Germany).       

                                                                                                                                    

He started is musical education with professor Leonardo Ippolito and continued his studies in “Conservatoire de la Vallée d’Aoste” in the class of  Massimo Baldioli, obtaining his Master degree in september 2011 with highest marks. One month later, he entered in Cergy-Pontoise Conservatory for  studying with international soloist Jean-Yves Fourmeau and graduated in June 2014 with highest mention and honours. He also followed many masterclass with other well- knowned teachers like Daniel Gauthier, Arno Bornkamp, Claude Delangle, Christian Wirth, Nobuya Sugawa, Lars Mlekusch, Vincent David and obtained another Master at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with professor Alain Crepin, Simon Diriq, Asagi Ito and Peter Pellens. 

                   

He played several times as a soloist with wind or string orchestra pieces like: Glazunov Concerto, Divertimento by Boutry, Escapades by John Williams, Larsson Concerto, Concertino da camera by Jacques Ibert, Concertino by Rueff. In January 2013 he made a live CD recording of “Rapsodie” by André Waignein during the “Concert du Nouvel An 2013” in Pont-Saint-Martin with Orchestre d’Harmonie du Val d’Aoste, conducted by Lino Blanchod. 

For the opening concert of the International Music Competition "Marco Fiorindo" 2018, he was invited to perform as soloist, playing the "Orientale" by Martin Loridan for 2 saxophones and wind orchestra, with orchestra "Fiatinsieme" conducted by  Enea Tonetti.

As a member of symphonic orchestras he recently collaborated  with Orchestra Sinfonica Verdi (Milan), Teatro Carlo Felice (Genova) and Sinfonieorchester Aachen (Germany). 

Since 2017, he is a member (tenor saxophone) of the Klassik4Sax quartet, performing concerts in particular in Belgium and France (Festival des Minimes, Festival Chapel for Europe, concert in Nadia Boulanger's house, etc). Klassik4sax was also invited to perform at the European Parliament in Bruxelles for the prestigious ceremony of the election of the new President in April 2018.                                               

He was recently invited for giving Masterclass at "Conservatoire de la Vallée d'Aoste" and he regularly teaches in Italy for summer masterclass.

He plays on Yamaha Custom EX saxophones and he is an artist officially sponsored by "Vandoren Paris" since 2016.
